The Kevin Smith Radio Show

A link for the fanboys. Between the unwavering devotion to his films exhibited by some, to his foray into the comic world ('nuff said there) to the self-promotion and re-releasing of special edition DVDs, is it no wonder K-Smith has the following he does. (And that wasn' really meant to be a J. Lo or K-Fed kind of reference, but I'm typing with one hand…settle down now…in my other arm is my newborn son. Although the brevity exhibited in “K-Smith” was all for naught given the long explanation here…er, let's continue)

Like I said a link for the fanboys.

What? Not what you expected. Oh…ok, here's the real deal. You'll see the mp3 links, as well as a link.

My cubejockey neighbor at work, aka Migs, had these mp3s going last night at the office. It was definitely amusing at times. Smith is funny and has a pretty quick wit. Edgar Wright, the director from Shaun of the Dead was a guest as well as K-Smith pals, Jason Mewes and Brian Lynch. If your Google search turned up this post, you obviously know the former. If you know the latter, than you are a bigger Kevin Smith fanboy than I thought you were. And he shouldn't get so upset that no caller includes him in the naming of the show.

Sort of in the same way that Dee Dee Ramone's death was more publicized and argued by some to be more tragic than the death of Robbin Crosby of Ratt on the same day, a couple years back. For the record, i just had to say which band Robbin Crosby was in, and still a lot of people are like…who? Exactly, the more famous you are the more press your death will get. Plain and simple. It doesn't make one more important than the other, no matter how well Chuck Klosterman can write about it, I understand his point but his argument isn't valid. It's nothing personal. Certainly not. It's only celebrity. So, sorry Brian when you write & direct six motion pictures or come up with a tagline like “Snoochie Boochies”, the callers will extend the love. Until then, relax.

I got both hands back, the baby's back asleep, and in the bassinet.

The funniest bit of the radio show, is Kevin Smith's ruminations on whether J. Lo wiped her ass at his house, when she confided with Kevin about her and Ben Affleck's dating difficulties.

For the record, Clerks is one of my favorite movies ever. I enjoyed Mallrats and Chasing Amy. I thought Dogma And J&S Strike Back had their moments, but didn't think they were as consistent as the other two. And I've been to the Secret Stash, even back at its old location, when Kevin and Jay both worked there. And Jay, thanks for recommending Marvels back then.

As I look back, I see thatthis isone sloppy post. I'm back to one hand, since the baby is up and down andmy othe r son is climbing all over me.
